Fine Jewelry inspired by exploration and human connection to the natural world.

To roam is to wander- in new directions, new places, and new environments. When I explore nature, I'm encouraged to be mindful. To become aware of what I'm sensing and feeling in the moment, and to notice life around me. As I observe various landscapes, lines, contours, and textures within the natural world, I am inspired by their serenity and reconnected to my surroundings. Preserving this experience is at the core of Roam Jewelry.

Each collection is informed by my discoveries of southern England; such as the rolling hills of the South Downs, the Purbecks, sea shells, or the erosion of rocks by the sea. I translate the environments that I encounter into fine jewelry, sharing the essence of natural forms. My goal is to explore the way that we connect jewelry and people to nature. The act of roaming and wearing Roam Jewelry can inspire this connection and wonder for the world around us.

Handmade by Brianna Cappelli

Brianna Cappelli is an artist/ maker from Richmond, VA and is currently based in the UK. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University with a concentration in Craft & Material Studies, and secondary degrees in Media Studies and Art History. Brianna focuses in woodworking and metal-smithing; creating sculptures, furniture, and jewelry that explore connections between nature and humanity. Her work is inspired by sensory experiences within the natural world as they relate to her mental and physical well-being. She draws on the lines, shapes, contours, and forms found within nature and the human body to encapsulate their physical connections. Brianna aims to replicate nature’s tranquility and to show people that we are inherently connected to our surroundings. Exploring this connection can be a powerful tool for rejuvenation.

Roam Jewelry is handmade in Brianna’s home studio; demonstrating thoughtful design, quality, and craftsmanship. Each piece is designed, carved, casted, and finished by hand.

Made by Hand

Brianna fabricates through the ancient process of sand casting. In this process, she carves a wax mold, imprints the mold into a flask with sand, heats and pours metal into the flask, and finishes each piece through carving, sanding, stone setting, and polishing.

Process

Sustainability is at the forefront of Brianna’s practice as she has always held a deep admiration for the environment. She is considerate in her process and with materials. All metals and gemstones are recycled and/or ethically and sustainably sourced. She avoids harsh chemicals when possible.
